Leave Dhaka early in the morning for Rajshahi (approximately 5½ hour scenic drive). Lunch at a highway restaurant. After a lunch stop in Puthia, a charming town renowned for the largest number of historically important Hindu structures in Bangladesh. The Shiva Temple in Puthia is the largest Hindu temple in Bangladesh. The Govinda Temple, decorated with intricate terracotta designs, is in one of the country’s finest old Rajbaris’ courtyard. Continue drive to Rajshahi, a University town on the Padma River. A short boat trip to enjoy the sunset over the Padma River can be arranged. Dinner at a local restaurant & overnight in Rajshahi.

Rajshahi offers several interesting attractions for visitors, including the country’s oldest museum, the Varendra Research Museum, managed by the Rajshahi University. In the predominantly British-style building with some interesting Hindu-Buddhist features, artifacts from all over the subcontinent are on display, including a superb collection of local Hindu sculpture. Museum visits after breakfast. Rajshahi is also known as the ‘silk capital’ of Bangladesh; visit a local silk production and watch the weaving, dyeing, block and batik painting of this exclusive natural fiber. After visiting the Silk factory start drive back to Dhaka. Lunch at a highway restaurant on the way. Reach Dhaka early in the evening.
